About the position

The Project Manager for Technical Services at AerSale is responsible for overseeing flight equipment maintenance, modification, and storage, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and OEM specifications. This role involves managing lease transitions, drafting technical documents, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality control. The Project Manager will also coordinate technical operations globally, evaluate regulatory changes, and develop work scopes for maintenance checks and modifications, all while promoting a positive work culture and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of flight equipment maintenance, modification, and storage.
  • Conduct lessee field audits and technical inspections to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage lease/asset transition, return, and delivery oversight.
  • Assist in drafting technical language for Letters of Intent (LOIs), Leases, Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), and General Terms Agreements (GTAs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and interface as necessary.
  • Oversee quality control to maintain high safety and procedural standards.
  • Research and utilize global resources to minimize maintenance and transportation costs.
  • Promote a professional and ethical work culture that encourages transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Plan all technical operations worldwide, including pre-buy inspections and ferry flights.
  • Evaluate upcoming Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) and Airworthiness Directives (AD) for applicability to the fleet.
  • Develop work scopes for implementing applicable ADs and maintenance checks.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of aircraft and engine history in conjunction with the Records Department.
  • Coordinate with the Records Department for aircraft conformity for lease/purchase/lease return.
  • Conduct physical aircraft and engine surveys and records evaluations for due diligence.
  • Develop cost accounting models and reporting for major projects, including metrics for program progress and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, export regulations, and supply chain management.
  • Coordinate activities with management and other AerSale business units as necessary.
  • Update management on project status and ensure accurate documentation of tasks and inspections.
  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding contracts, bids, and proposals.
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules for executing contracts/subcontracts.
  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, materials, and services.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Interface with US and foreign regulatory representatives for technical support and delivery.

Requirements

  • Current FAA Airframe or Powerplant license (preferred).
  • At least five (5) years of diverse, large aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Formal education and/or experience sufficient to meet the responsibilities listed.
  • Knowledge of FAR requirements related to aircraft airworthiness and conformity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality with work product.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with lease and maintenance contract terms.
  • Experience in LOI drafting and maintenance forecasting.
  • Knowledge of contractual return condition valuation.
