About the position

The Project Manager role at Henry Ford Health involves managing complex projects aimed at improving operating systems and functions within the organization. This position requires independent judgment and decision-making, overseeing project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation while coordinating with various teams and stakeholders. The Project Manager will also supervise support staff and ensure the successful completion of projects with strategic implications for the hospital and region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex projects involving coordination of multiple participants and teams.
  • Conduct reviews of Hospital/Medical Group areas on a project basis.
  • Prepare project plans including scheduling, costs, and personnel matters.
  • Develop and refine project scope and objectives.
  • Guide day-to-day activities of the project team.
  • Facilitate and/or lead meetings and teams.
  • Supply periodic project updates to hospital administration.
  • Prepare project management reports and coordinate presentations of project findings.
  • Document current systems and operations and analyze client systems for improvement opportunities.
  • Identify internal staff development needs and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or a relevant technical/management field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years in Operations Analysis, Management Engineering, or related analytical field in healthcare or management consulting.
  • Previous supervisory and/or consulting experience is preferred.
  • Significant project management experience and outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to apply innovative solutions to problems and familiarity with TQM process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in leading quality improvement initiatives/project management is highly desirable.
  • Lean training highly preferred.
