The primary responsibility of the Project Manager in Global Development Operations Information Technology (GDO-IT) at Bristol Myers Squibb is to plan and execute a strategic portfolio of projects. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to drive intended business outcomes, managing a broad set of stakeholders to meet business objectives with urgency. Key responsibilities include planning and leading the execution of assigned projects that support the objectives of the Cross Study Operations & Specimen Management (CSO & SM) Product Line within GDO IT. The Project Manager will create detailed project plans, identify dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate project status to management and stakeholders. They will ensure that project deliverables, schedules, and financials adhere to established standards and are managed in alignment with BMS Project Management best practices. Periodic evaluation of performance and the development of action plans to achieve performance goals are also critical aspects of the role. The Project Manager will monitor and control the schedule and financial health of projects, providing actionable insights to stakeholders, and proactively removing obstacles to maintain project momentum. Additionally, the Project Manager will engage necessary resources across the enterprise to ensure successful project completion, establish project management and governance structures in collaboration with Product Managers and Technical leads, and advise on the application of Project Management best practices, including Agile, SDLC, and PMF. Continuous improvement of the adoption and maturity of these best practices across IT is also a key responsibility. Collaboration with product managers, technical leads, and portfolio managers on business case development for investments is essential, translating experience and insights into improved estimates and outcomes.
