About the position

The Construction Project Manager at Flatiron Building Company will lead multiple construction projects in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, ensuring that all phases from pre-construction to closeout are executed successfully. This role requires strong project management skills, effective communication with stakeholders, and a commitment to safety and compliance throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring project schedule, budgets, and specifications are met.
  • Coordinate project activities and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Manage project submittal and RFI processes in collaboration with the project team.
  • Prepare and submit payment applications and change orders for client approval.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings with project stakeholders, including owners, subcontractors, and architects and engineers, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Create and manage detailed logistics plans, proactively identifying and addressing project risks while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and other project team members.
  • Manage project closeout process.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including estimating, superintendents, and carpenters to align resources and strategies with project goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing in accordance with project schedule and specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting project documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, processes, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and MS Projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of negotiating and gaining buy-in from project stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and motivated with a positive attitude and collaborative mindset.
  • OSHA-10 certification preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Construction experience in and around the Philadelphia area is a plus.
  • Experience with industry-specific software preferred.
