About the position

Amazon is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the execution of successful new build infrastructure and expansion/retrofit projects within the Global Engineering Services (GES) Organization. This role involves leading a team, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while driving standardization across the network. The Project Manager will handle medium to large capital projects with aggressive schedules and will be responsible for coordinating multiple vendors and interfacing with various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new and existing programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations.
  • Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery.
  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers, and escalating as appropriate.
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes.
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and govern the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or sub-task.
  • Provide accountability while reporting on status, asking for help, and immediately escalating issues and problems as necessary.
  • Responsible for overall project schedule that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and Go-Live.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree, or MBA.
  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment.
  • 5+ years of vendor management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • PMP, or MBA in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing.
