My client is a leading civil engineering organisation that is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Highways Division. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of highways schemes, which include a wide range of works such as bearing replacements, phased replacement of panels and fixings, refurbishment of corbel/drainage channel detail, repairs and corrosion protection to arched beams, refurbishment of rendered facias, and phased patch painting/overcoating to surfaces exposed to UV light. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that these projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. As a Project Manager, you will manage site staff, operatives, and sub-contractors, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to achieve project goals. You will be responsible for preparing method statements, hazard risk assessments, and comprehensive Project Management plans. Understanding tender allowances and monitoring contract loss against agreed budgets will be essential to your role. You will also prepare and monitor programmes of work, fostering good relations and a strong reputation with clients throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to managing design coordination and the assessment and engagement of sub-contractors, you will ensure that contracts are managed effectively to guarantee timely and profitable completion. A key aspect of your role will be to supervise, mentor, and assist in the career development of junior staff, helping to build a strong and capable team within the Highways Division.
