About the position

The Project Manager will join the Human Resources project management office (PMO) team at Ameriprise, focusing on leading small to medium scope projects that often involve cross-organizational initiatives. This role requires applying project management and change management methodologies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while also obtaining agreement and adoption of project objectives from key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver small to medium scope projects representing cross-organizational initiatives.
  • Manage projects within the company's project delivery framework using project management and change management methodologies.
  • Accountable for project communications, risk assessment, and escalation of critical issues to project sponsors.
  • Define overall project objectives and key deliverables, tracking measures of success.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans incorporating deliverables, accountabilities, and timelines using Project Server.
  • Provide regular status reporting on project progress as per company standards.
  • Lead project resources to ensure timely delivery on commitments and tasks.
  • Align cross-organizational resources for successful project delivery.
  • Work with business partners, vendors, and project management staff to develop project agendas and ensure agreement on objectives.
  • Provide proactive communication to project owners and identify cross-organizational interdependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5 to 7 years of proven experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of industry-standard project management and change management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Project Workbench.
  • Experience in leading small to medium-scale projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to develop risk mitigation plans for assigned projects.
  • Experience managing a $5M+ annual program with monthly releases.
  • Ability to track and deliver on 100+ enhancement projects per year.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with 3+ days in the office.
