The Project Manager I - Engineering position at ONEOK is a critical role responsible for overseeing the project management and engineering design of pipeline and terminal projects. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the project management lifecycle, ensuring that all projects are managed through all phases, including estimating, engineering design, and construction. The Project Manager will be tasked with preparing detailed job descriptions, construction contracts, soliciting and evaluating bids, requisitioning materials, supervising construction activities, and preparing project status reports. The role demands coordination of drafting efforts, interpretation of construction drawings, approval of invoices, and resolution of contract disputes, all while ensuring timely project completion. In this role, the Project Manager will regularly apply theories, principles, concepts, and techniques acquired through higher education or equivalent experience. The position involves compiling, examining, and analyzing information to select the best resolutions to issues of moderate complexity. The Project Manager will work under normal supervision, receiving general instructions on routine work and more detailed guidance on new projects. The authority to make independent decisions regarding assignments and objectives is granted, with the understanding that failure to achieve results may require additional resources to correct or achieve goals. Essential functions include providing project management and construction oversight for assigned projects, including expansion, regulatory, and modification projects at Magellan Pipelines and Facilities. The Project Manager will follow the Project Life Cycle and System Integrity Plan (SIP) to ensure that all projects meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Responsibilities also include producing project plans, cost estimates, and other necessary documentation to facilitate project identification and evaluation. The role requires proactive communication of project information to stakeholders and effective management of project risks, particularly those related to hazardous materials handling. The Project Manager will ensure that project scope is managed effectively, delivering only what was agreed upon unless changes are approved through a formal scope management process.
