About the position

The Project Manager I at UTHealth Houston is responsible for coordinating and completing a variety of projects aimed at implementing and monitoring healthcare transformation activities. This role involves overseeing all aspects of projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and preparing reports for upper management. The position requires interaction with various departments to develop and manage policies and procedures related to assigned projects, ensuring effective collaboration and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete a wide variety of projects.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects including setting deadlines and assigning responsibilities.
  • Monitor and summarize progress of projects.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding project status.
  • Interact with representatives from various departments to develop and manage policies and procedures related to assigned projects.
  • Work within budget, negotiate service contracts, and report on progress.
  • Prepare progress reports for management and governmental agencies.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation.
  • Lead and direct the work of others as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in project/program management.
