About the position

The Project Manager I at Mercy Housing is responsible for leading the finance, development, and acquisition of affordable, multi-family housing in Los Angeles and the surrounding region. This role involves engaging with the affordable housing community, navigating the approval process, and preparing project analyses to ensure successful project execution. The position is hybrid-eligible, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Review sites or projects for potential development of new construction or acquisition opportunities.
  • Lead the application process and navigate through Mercy's approval process.
  • Engage and solve issues directly with internal and external parties.
  • Prepare feasibility or project analysis responding to project criteria, including identification of needs and project risks.
  • Execute job tasks with final review by Project Developer II or higher.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Planning, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in low-income housing development work.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and relationship management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Planning, or related field.
  • Certification in Real Estate Development.
