About the position

The Project Manager I at AVL Test Systems Inc. is responsible for managing various processes, projects, and products within a dynamic environment. This role requires a minimum of 1+ years of technical or project management experience, preferably with exposure to new technologies. The Project Manager will coordinate activities across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and customer sites, ensuring project compliance with targets and customer satisfaction. This position offers opportunities for growth and development in a leadership role within the AVL organization.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling projects with low commercial, social, and technical complexity.
  • Coordinating Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer site activities.
  • Managing project initialization and planning.
  • Ensuring implementation of projects in compliance with all related processes to achieve targets (cost, timing, deliverables) and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring project quality gates are fully complied with.
  • Managing scope change and customer relationship during project execution.
  • Controlling overall budget and managing contingency.
  • Interfacing with Finance and supporting project accounting requirements.
  • Identifying new business opportunities on existing projects.
  • Applying appropriate tools and methods for project management.
  • Conducting project lessons learned with the project team and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, ideally in integration of powertrain and vehicle testing systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple customers.
  • Excellent people, verbal, written communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Competence with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP is beneficial.
  • Awareness of and ability to accommodate personality and cultural differences.
  • Distinctive customer focus.
