About the position

Overview: Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager II, Substation to join our Electric sector. The Project Manager II will lead transformative initiatives in electric substations. As a key player in our organization, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of power distribution and contribute to sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned project leader with a passion for driving innovation in our energy sector. Responsibilities: The Project Manager II will be responsible for various tasks including materials tracking, aligning materials tracking with schedules, outages, and other construction activities. The role includes being the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Administrator, tracking the 5-year review cycle of all System Protection and Maintenance (SPM) for clients, and updating Substation Construction & Maintenance SOPs. The PM will also edit, format, and modify documents as needed, track reviewers/approvers, and update Word documents and publish PDFs on the SharePoint site. Additionally, the PM will manage the Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Program, which is an asset management tool, by attending bi-weekly meetings, taking notes, and following up with action items. The PM will also update agendas and P6 schedule updates on capital and retrofit projects with schedulers and Kearny Engineers. The role includes supporting the Electronic Control Technician (ECT) by creating a Customer Generation handoff tracker, submitting tickets for secured IP addresses, and tracking schedule stages in customer panel installation. The PM will manage the Tools Budget Tracker, assist in opening requisitions for tools, and notify requestors. Furthermore, the PM will work with Kearny Engineers to track the status of ground grid testing and coordinate with the Substation Engineering department on any ground grid design and traveling grounds. The PM will also submit, track, and manage environmental permits for ground grid repair and construct business cases and justifications for the project.

Responsibilities

  • Materials Tracking: Align materials tracking with schedule, outages, and other construction activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering required.
  • 2-6 years of experience working in electrical substation required.
  • Power delivery/utility experience required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management within substation engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems design principles.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with contract management practices.
  • Proficiency using Procore, SharePoint, and SAP programs.
