About the position

The Project Manager II, IT is responsible for managing the entire life cycle of moderately complex to complex IT projects, ensuring adherence to project management standards and methodologies defined by the organization's IT Project Management Office (IT PMO). This role involves overseeing the implementation of the Crowley Data and Document Management System, managing project documentation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire life cycle of assigned IT projects from definition through completion.
  • Document Manager responsible for implementing the Crowley Data and Document Management System.
  • Develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for the software lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in configuration management aspects.
  • Oversee software tracking and releases, selecting and leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
  • Anticipate business challenges to develop detailed work breakdown structures and schedules.
  • Perform assessments to ensure business requirements are fulfilled and risks are mitigated.
  • Manage integration of vendor tasks and monitor deliverables.
  • Track performance against operating plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate status to IT leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related IT project management experience.
  • 5+ years of federal contracts experience with medium to large contractors.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Advanced proficiency with electronic project management systems and tools, such as AtTask Enterprise Work Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Project Management Institute (PMI) approach to project management.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate technical/operational training.
