The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Project Manager II (PM2) to join the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) team. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and project management for a variety of highly technical, mission-critical, and sensitive construction projects. Currently, PDC is managing over $2 billion in projects that are in various stages of design and construction, making this position essential for the successful delivery of these initiatives. The PM2 will be responsible for overseeing projects that may include new construction, fit-out of shell spaces, renovation of existing facilities, and maintenance of campus infrastructure, with project budgets reaching up to $10 million. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, management, organization, and communication skills. You will provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of clients while adhering to university Design & Construction Standards. The PM2 will also be responsible for ensuring consistent, timely, and reliable communication among all project stakeholders, including clients, professional service providers, university personnel, and contractors. This position requires the ability to assist in developing project scope, budget, and schedule for multiple projects simultaneously, while managing and tracking project budgets and schedules effectively. The successful candidate will also be tasked with procuring services from Professional Service Providers (PSPs) and construction teams, as well as administering agreements. Staying current with legislation, building codes, and university design and construction standards is crucial. Additionally, the PM2 will participate in committees and task forces aimed at improving the department's mission of excellent customer service and project delivery. This position is not only about managing projects but also about making a meaningful impact on the university community and enhancing the overall student experience.
