About the position

The Project Manager II at Cordoba Corporation is responsible for overseeing and managing complex construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The Project Manager II will utilize extensive project management experience to navigate challenges, mitigate risks, and implement best practices, while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Review and summarize project data, conducting field checks for compliance with design documents and DSA requirements.
  • Monitor, report, and provide recommendations to the College Project Director and PMO regarding project status, delivery objectives, schedule, costs, budget, staffing, delays, disputes, changes, and compliance with SOP and other construction requirements.
  • Identify risks, propose approaches to mitigate their impacts, and maintain a risk register database to enter and update risks and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with the College, Design Team, and others to develop and execute construction phasing and swing space plans, tracking progress against those plans.
  • Work with the Design Team, contractors, inspectors, DSA, and others to resolve complex construction-related issues in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Oversee the closeout of Campus Projects for compliance with DSA, District, and PMO requirements, including coordination with the College's relocation project manager regarding FF&E and asset disposition.
  • Assist other CPLT and CPT members in managing and coordinating the planning, programming, and design phases of Campus Projects and reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • 7 years' experience in management of multiple construction projects.
  • 2 years of experience in educational facility design and construction.
  • Experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with California Public Contract Code provisions.
  • Experience in formal construction partnering.
  • Current and valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer in California.
  • Current and valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by CMCI.
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
  • Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, including planning, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Experience in alternative delivery methods.
  • Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and successfully deliver projects.
