About the position

The Project Manager II for Turnkey Project Delivery at RES is a pivotal role that involves leading the full delivery of various environmental projects across Florida, specifically in the Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale areas. This position allows for remote work; however, candidates must reside within the state of Florida. The Project Manager II will oversee a range of turnkey projects that may include stream restoration, wetland mitigation, water quality enhancement, water storage, flood resiliency, and living shoreline installation. In this role, the Project Manager II will be responsible for coordinating both internal and external resources to ensure the successful execution of all project phases. This includes assisting Land Representatives with site selection for land acquisition, designing the project, obtaining necessary permits, overseeing construction, and managing planting operations and maintenance. The Project Manager will develop project scope, schedule, and costs, manage teaming agreements with consultants and subcontractors, track and forecast budgets throughout the project lifecycle, manage monthly billing and invoicing, and implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure project standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the environmental sector, demonstrating the ability to plan, schedule, and execute complex projects on time and within budget. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project tasks and a thorough understanding of regulatory and technical requirements, as well as financial metrics and constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full delivery of turnkey projects including stream restoration, wetland mitigation, and water quality enhancement.
  • Assist Land Representatives with site selection for land acquisition.
  • Design the project and obtain necessary permits.
  • Oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Manage planting operations and maintenance activities.
  • Develop project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Manage teaming agreements with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Track and forecast budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage monthly billing and invoicing throughout the project.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure project quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, applied sciences, or a similar field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, with a minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, and executing a full range of project tasks on schedule and on budget.
  • Experience with forecasting and delivery of financial reports including budgets, % complete, revenue, COGS, margin, and cash flow.
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating and evaluating bids from subcontractors and managing subcontractors.
  • Experience evaluating projects based on regulatory and technical requirements, financial metrics, and constraints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a team lead in applied sciences, engineering, or construction department.
  • Stream/Wetland Mitigation experience is preferred.
  • Experience with construction cost estimating software such as Heavy Bid or Bid 2 Win.
  • Experience with ecological restoration implementation, including planting and management of nuisance/exotic species.
