The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a Project Manager III (PM3) to serve within the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) department. This role is pivotal in providing project management and leadership for both major and minor Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, with total project costs (TPC) exceeding $10 million for major projects and under $10 million for minor projects. The PDC is currently managing over $2 billion in major projects that are in various stages of design and construction, making this position critical for the successful delivery of these projects. As a Project Manager III, you will be working for a university that is internationally recognized for its academic programs and research, and your contributions will significantly enhance the experiences of students, staff, and faculty. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional management of design and construction projects for university facilities. These projects may encompass new construction, fit-out of shell spaces, renovation of existing spaces, and refurbishment of existing building and campus infrastructure. You will demonstrate leadership, management, organization, and communication skills while providing excellent customer service to meet client needs and adhere to university Design and Construction Standards. Your ability to provide professional direction for project teams will be essential in achieving common goals and ensuring successful project outcomes. You will also be tasked with maintaining consistent, timely, and reliable communication among all project stakeholders, including clients, professional service providers, university personnel, and contractors. This will ensure that projects are thoroughly documented and understood. Additionally, you will assist in developing project scope, budget, and schedule for multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, while tracking project budgets and schedules and developing reports as directed. Keeping the facilities database software (currently FAMIS) updated with current project information will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will procure services from Professional Service Providers (PSPs) and Construction teams and help administer agreements, while staying current with legislation, building codes, materials, and university standards. Safety requirements, following OSHA standards, will also be a priority in your role.
