About the position

The Project Manager for Industrial Automation at teamtechnik is responsible for leading project teams to execute automation projects on schedule and within budget. This role involves planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of automated machinery projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards. The Project Manager will also be the key contact for customers, managing project deliverables and financial forecasts while mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team to execute projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Plan, monitor, control, and be accountable for all aspects of automated machinery projects.
  • Administer all technical and commercial information from project kick-off through closure.
  • Coordinate in-house staff performance to schedule and budget, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Create, track, and update the project schedule in MS Project, identifying critical path activities.
  • Prepare accurate financial and resource forecasts for project forecasting.
  • Prepare reports and present to management regarding project status.
  • Track all contract changes and prepare change order requests.
  • Ensure customer-requested changes are executed only after receipt of customer agreement.
  • Assess and identify all resources, technical solutions, and commercial risks, developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Responsible for machine acceptance and sign-off, along with customer milestone invoice sign-off.
  • Ensure all program deliverables are accomplished and supporting documentation is prepared for each project milestone payment.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree required.
  • 5 years experience in managing automation projects in excess of $2 million with multiple disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of the automation industry and customer manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential.
  • Proficiency with MS Project required, along with MS Office and CAD.
