About the position

The Project Manager for Industrial Manufacturing at Black & Veatch is responsible for overseeing medium to large engineering, procurement, construction, or design-build projects within the manufacturing, ag/bio-process, and food/beverage industries. This role involves managing project execution, ensuring safety, cost, schedule, and quality metrics are met, and leading multi-discipline teams to deliver successful project outcomes. The position requires strong communication skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and clients effectively.
  • Oversee a team of multi-discipline engineers to deliver detailed design projects from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple time zones to create winning proposals and ensure strong project execution.
  • Negotiate with executive management within clients' organizations to achieve project goals.
  • Communicate project status, next steps, and potential risks to the sales and account management team.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan and staffing plan.
  • Forecast project financials and manage risks associated with projects.
  • Prepare and present monthly project reviews to management.
  • Develop and maintain the project Change Management Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly in food & beverage and precision fermentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain key client relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing client invoicing, internal and external costs, and overall project profitability.
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, preferably using P6 or Project.
