About the position

The Project Manager for Industrial Manufacturing at Black & Veatch is responsible for overseeing medium to large engineering, procurement, construction, or design-build projects within the manufacturing, ag/bio-process, and food/beverage industries. This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to manage project risks, costs, schedules, and quality to ensure client satisfaction and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and clients effectively.
  • Oversee a team of multi-discipline engineers to deliver detailed design projects from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan and staffing plan.
  • Responsible for project financial forecasting and managing risk.
  • Prepare and present monthly project reviews to management.
  • Communicate project status and potential risks with the sales and account management team.
  • Negotiate with multiple levels of executive management within clients' organizations.
  • Develop and maintain the project Change Management Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly in food & beverage and precision fermentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing project profitability and invoicing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, preferably using P6 or Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four-year bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience in design, construction, and operations within the manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to think quickly and anticipate questions when interfacing with clients.
