About the position

The Project Manager, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity at EnerSys is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives for the development of a Lithium Gigafactory. This role ensures the factory's operations are built on a reliable, secure, and scalable foundation, aligning with corporate IT standards. The ideal candidate will possess both technical expertise and project management skills to effectively plan, design, and implement necessary infrastructure and cybersecurity measures, collaborating with various stakeholders to support advanced manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, and deployment of the factory's IT infrastructure, including network systems, data centers, cloud architecture, and operational technology.
  • Coordinate the design and installation of wired and wireless network systems, servers, storage, and backup solutions to support 24/7 factory operations.
  • Ensure infrastructure scalability to support growth and future digitalization needs, including IoT, Industry 4.0, and automation platforms.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy for the factory, protecting both IT systems and operational technology (OT) from external and internal threats.
  • Lead initiatives to establish secure access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement cybersecurity measures that support advanced manufacturing technologies, including AI, robotics, and automation systems.
  • Develop detailed project plans for both infrastructure and cybersecurity components, outlining milestones, deliverables, risk mitigation, and resource requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring collaboration between IT, operations, and external partners to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Track project progress, adjust schedules and resources as needed, and provide regular status updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Assess cyber risks related to the factory's IT and OT environments, implementing mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and other cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Oversee regular security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments to validate the effectiveness of implemented cybersecurity measures.
  • Work closely with external vendors and service providers to select, procure, and implement appropriate technologies for infrastructure and cybersecurity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for communication with third-party vendors, ensuring that contractual obligations, SLAs, and security requirements are met.
  • Facilitate coordination between IT, operations, legal, and senior leadership teams to align project goals with broader business objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets for infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of performance and security.
  • Monitor expenditures and adjust budgets as necessary to meet financial goals without compromising security or operational integrity.
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) plans for the factory's IT and OT environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations in the event of an incident.
  • Oversee the testing and refinement of DR/BC plans to ensure effectiveness and rapid recovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity project management, preferably in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects and implementing cybersecurity frameworks for critical systems.
  • Experience with IT/OT convergence, cloud services, industrial control systems (ICS), and network security in a factory setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of network architecture, cybersecurity tools, protocols, and standards (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and industry-specific standards for manufacturing.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical needs into business objectives.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on cybersecurity innovation and operational resilience.

Nice-to-haves

  • CISSP, CISM, PMP, or similar cybersecurity and project management certifications preferred.
