About the position
The Project Manager for IT Network Engineering at SAIC is responsible for overseeing the cost, schedule, and performance of an Enterprise IT Network Service Provider. This role involves collaborating with a team of network Systems Engineers and Technical Advisors to manage the design, delivery, enhancement, and recapitalization of a multi-site network environment. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in network infrastructure to assess service provider proposals and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the cost, schedule, and performance activities of an Enterprise IT Network Service Provider.
- Collaborate with network Systems Engineers and Technical Advisors to manage network design and delivery.
- Assess service provider proposed approaches for solving organizational needs.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements definition, and interface definition studies.
- Quantify detailed information for recommendations in written and verbal formats.
- Conduct risk assessments of proposed service provider deliveries.
- Prepare program plans, including budget and schedule development.
- Strategically assess customer vision and needs to improve service delivery quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and nine years of work experience; or a Master's degree and seven years of work experience; or a PhD or JD and four years of work experience; applicable work experience may substitute for a degree.
- Working understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper Operating Systems.
- Experience with network integration involving physical, virtual, and cloud-based technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for delivering status updates on multiple activities.
- Ability to perform requirements analysis, schedule reviews, and cost estimations.
- Experience as a change agent translating customer requirements into service provider tasking.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments of proposed service provider deliveries.
Nice-to-haves
- Cisco and/or Juniper certification (even if expired).
- PMP and/or Agile certification (not required).
- ITIL certification (not required).
