About the position

The IT Project Manager at Tommy Bahama is responsible for overseeing technical projects within the Information Technology organization. This role involves applying strong communication and problem-solving skills to manage IT-related initiatives effectively, ensuring successful project delivery within defined scope, schedule, quality, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical projects for the Information Technology organization.
  • Create project plans and ensure delivery against those plans.
  • Resolve risks and issues as they arise and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Work closely with stakeholders for proper project intake.
  • Manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
  • Run regular project status meetings and track tasks for teams.
  • Communicate project information and manage relationships with cross-functional departments and vendors.
  • Build project teams and manage resource needs based on project requirements.
  • Track project deadlines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and coordinate procurement of equipment for technical projects.
  • Manage the implementation of technology at new stores, including voice, data, and network equipment.
  • Coordinate transition of completed projects to operations with a production support plan.
  • Prepare reports and briefings on project status and related items.
  • Analyze, track, and report on project trends, escalating issues as needed.

Requirements

  • College degree in a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience managing projects using MS Project and other project management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and maximize efficiencies.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
