About the position

The IT Project Manager at Avery Dennison is responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. This role involves managing a variety of projects including product launches, application development, systems integration, and operational improvements, ensuring adherence to organizational project standards and industry best practices. The position requires strong leadership and influencing capabilities to manage matrixed teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, orchestrate, and deliver projects with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefits.
  • Direct large-scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage all phases of the project life cycle in collaboration with business unit IT partners.
  • Ensure project commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Validate financial forecasts and reconcile project-related expenditures.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Represent the project in governance and inter-department forums.
  • Chair weekly core team and monthly operating committee meetings to review project progress.
  • Define and track milestones, maintaining an integrated delivery plan.
  • Develop project charters, integrated project plans, resource plans, and contingency plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 to 7 years of Project Management experience in a multinational company.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to earn trust from sponsors and stakeholders, mobilize teams, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and delivering complex projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management and SDLC methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the grocery store industry.
  • Familiarity with PMBOK management practices.
