About the position

The Project Management IV position is a senior-level role within the Project Management Office (PMO), part of the Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) department. This position reports directly to the PMO Director. The Project Manager IV performs advanced project management duties, overseeing the initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring of diverse projects across various stages of the project lifecycle. The role requires regular communication with stakeholders, management, and other key parties. May direct, assign, and evaluate the work of project staff. The selected candidate will operate under limited supervision, utilizing significant initiative and independent judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all phases of project management, adhering to accepted project management methodologies.
  • Defines and manages scope, customer expectations, and project deliverables.
  • Develops project plans, communication strategies, and metrics reporting.
  • Tracks project progress, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • Advises and negotiates with PCS customers to align project activities with objectives.
  • Executes special projects with a focus on operational efficiency and process improvement.
  • Works with PCS procurement and business operations teams to develop strategies for improving operational efficiency.
  • Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of cumulative experience in project management.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Strong project management skills, including facilitating and organizing project activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in SharePoint.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft 365 applications.
