About the position

Position Overview: Navistar International Corporation, a leading North American truck manufacturer with great products, a strong market position, and best-in-class distribution network, has an exciting new opportunity for a Project Manager Lead - Technical to join our Research and Development team. This is currently a hybrid position working 3 days in office and 2 days work from home a week at our WHQ in Lisle, IL. (Navistar R D group reserves the right to update the current hybrid working status at any time). The Project Manager Lead - Technical will lead and guide numerous small programs through design, release, and plant introduction through the R D Change Control Process. Programs could be driven by quality issues, cost reduction, supplier concerns, and feature enhancements. The Project Manager Lead - Technical will track and monitor a series of various size issues. The PM will work with a cross-functional team to identify a resolution, monitor progress through the engineering/validation process, and work with purchasing/manufacturing teams to ensure changes are implemented. PM will monitor release activities and work cross-functionally in the development of projects from start to end to ensure all metrics are being met.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Ensure the program is vetted through the 4 steps of the Change Control Board (CCB) and meets the deliverables of each step.
  • Determine program cost and value, managing engineering releases, ensuring quality metrics are met, addressing any product concerns, and successfully implementing the changes into production.
  • Monitor design cost and product cost throughout the CCB process to ensure the program is on track.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of technical project/program management experience OR Master's degree with at least 3 years of technical project/program management experience OR at least 7 years of technical project/program management experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis to be employed in the United States.
