About the position

The Project Manager role at Volt involves leading and managing utility projects from initiation to completion. The position requires overseeing all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The role is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and requires onsite presence three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of a project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate activities to ensure project goals are met.
  • Monitor project progress and identify and address issues or risks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and senior management to provide updates on project status.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and external partners.
  • Lead project meetings and facilitate discussions to drive project progress.
  • Manage project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Support the development and implementation of project management best practices and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Construction Engineering.
  • Strong Utility PM experience (5+ years).
  • Financial & forecasting acumen.
  • Experience managing medium voltage (12kV - 69KV) utility projects.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of more than 25 projects in all stages of initiation, scope definition, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Access to a car for reporting in-office or to a jobsite at least 3 days a week.
  • Proficient in reading electrical prints.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley accounting & forecasting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Asset Suite 8.
  • Experience with Community Solar projects involving feeder line extensions, substation upgrades, and contractual relationships with customers/developers.
  • Real Estate easement, zoning, and permitting experience is a plus.
