About the position

Eaton's Electrical Engineering & Services division is seeking a Project Manager for its Mission Critical team. This remote role involves managing electrical projects with a focus on critical power systems, ensuring efficient and cost-effective installations while meeting design requirements. The Project Manager will lead modernization projects, perform site surveys, and utilize project management tools to execute projects from inception to completion, all while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site surveys evaluating current electrical and mechanical conditions and create designs to upgrade or install new electrical infrastructures.
  • Use modern project management tools to design and execute projects related to electrical power system modifications.
  • Lead modernization projects in the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with a focus on critical power systems.
  • Deliver projects with professionalism and safety, utilizing knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment.
  • Take full responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion, including scope development, planning, and execution.
  • Create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and ensure successful completion.
  • Report, forecast, and present project financial activity to management.
  • Provide technical leadership to district sales & service teams.
  • Manage and direct a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, ensuring knowledge of electrical system design and installation.
  • Manage and maintain all assigned projects, ensuring customer expectations are met according to contract requirements.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage change orders.
  • Establish and communicate the scope of work and responsibilities between customers, employees, and suppliers/sub-contractors.
  • Develop Accident Prevention Plans, QC Plans, Environmental Plans, and Mobilization Plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directing field service engineers/technicians.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing electrical projects.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel within the US and outside of the US without restrictions.
  • Ability to gain access to military and government sites.
  • All candidates must reside within the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Retired Military.
  • Efficient with Primavera and/or MS Project.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Knowledge of data center construction.
  • Working knowledge of packaged equipment solutions.
  • Technical experience in electrical/mechanical/structural/civil construction techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with EM385 Army Corp of Engineer requirements.
  • Quality Control certifications/experience.
  • Efficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
