About the position

The Project Manager for the Native Nations Center at the University of Nevada, Reno will oversee the implementation and expansion of projects aimed at supporting Indigenous communities. This role involves strategizing, owning, implementing, and assessing the success of various programs within the Native Nations Center, focusing on recruitment and retention of students in STEM fields, and capacity building for Tribal communities. The Project Manager will collaborate with Tribal communities, industry partners, and the campus community to ensure effective program delivery and reporting over a five-year implementation timeline.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and expansion of projects for the Office of Indigenous Relations and the Native Nations Center.
  • Collaborate with Tribal communities and industry partners to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Provide reporting and recommendations across the five-year implementation timeline.
  • Focus on recruitment of students in STEM fields and retention in higher education.
  • Coordinate with industry partners within the Lithium loop for workforce development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and four years of related professional work experience, or a Master's Degree and two years of related experience.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Experience as a program and/or project manager responsible for all aspects of program and project management including planning, monitoring, implementation, budget, and reporting.
