About the position

As a Project Manager in New Product Development at Baker Hughes, you will lead projects focused on the Surface Pressure Control (SPC) product line, which includes API 6A Surface Wellheads and Trees. Your role will involve coordinating multifunctional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with product specifications. You will be responsible for driving product development teams, maintaining project schedules, and providing key metrics and reports on project status.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the NPD program/project activities on time and within budget.
  • Drive and maintain project schedule progress.
  • Coordinate the multifunctional team carrying out each project, including engineering, sales, sourcing, and manufacturing.
  • Facilitate handoffs between functions for assigned projects.
  • Create purchase order requisitions and manufacturing or testing work order requests.
  • Act as the SPC subject matter expert on the NPD process.
  • Provide key NPD metrics/reports on project status, including financial risks and opportunities.
  • Support HQ, SPC finance, and schedulers in producing and reporting metrics for assigned projects.
  • Facilitate the Product Development stage-gate process for assigned projects.
  • Support project stakeholders and sustain NPD project information in the Baker Hughes NPD tracking system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar relevant degree.
  • 1 year experience working with engineering, production, and design teams to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • 5 years experience in a technical role executing projects to a defined schedule and budget.
  • Experience working as Project Manager for surface wellheads and well trees is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, tracking costs, and controlling costs.
  • Experience creating and executing schedules that include design, procurement, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Prior experience managing technical projects or programs and designing and developing new products.
  • Experience working across business functions and global teams.
  • Solid business acumen and customer-centric mindset.

  • Experience in the energy industry is a plus.
