About the position

The Project Manager for New Product Development in Manufactured Products is responsible for overseeing the management of product lines and categories within Rheem's Water Heater Division. This role involves creating strategic product roadmaps, conducting competitive analyses, and supporting the entire product lifecycle from development to commercialization. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure product quality and market success while driving innovation and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development projects and oversee profitability and market share growth of assigned products or product categories.
  • Drive the innovation project pipeline to ensure the greatest value proposition for customers.
  • Utilize the stage-gate New Product Development Process to manage product redesign projects.
  • Conduct Voice of Customer research to inform product and project plans.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking activities including product teardowns and customer surveys.
  • Collaborate with engineering to drive cost reduction activities.
  • Liaison with the quality group to monitor product quality and warranty metrics.
  • Assist in implementing product quality correction solutions and programs.
  • Lead product design, development, and profitability analysis via the Product Development Council Process.
  • Maintain product line sales data for all assigned products.
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate key trends in customer and product mix.
  • Provide analysis regarding marketing programs and product portfolio enhancements.
  • Oversee product maintenance and provide marketing support for commercialization activities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of product performance and specification sheets.
  • Perform market research and customer sensing activities to refine new product designs.
  • Assist Project Team support activities and new product feasibility studies.
  • Provide a variety of product support for internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Engineering related fields.
  • 1-3 years leading teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, including strategic and tactical thinking.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Understanding of and experience in applying financial performance measures.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in product management preferred.
  • Prior experience working in stage-gate process.
  • HVAC / Water Heating / Hydronic systems industry experience preferred.
  • MBA in Marketing or General Management a plus.
