About the position

The Project Manager - NPD will oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of new product development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role requires coordination among team members and external contractors, with a strong focus on quality control and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements for specific product development efforts.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, quality assurance) to ensure timely execution of the project.
  • Break down the NPD process into manageable tasks and assign them to the appropriate team members.
  • Monitor and control the project's budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints, and drive contingencies.
  • Identify and mitigate project-specific risks that may affect delivery, such as technical challenges or supplier issues.
  • Track the progress of the project using tools like Gantt charts, KPIs, or project management software, ensuring the project is on schedule via a defined cadence.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency around progress, risks, and any changes, as well as sharing best practices and scenarios for approval.
  • Ensure that the product meets all specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements during development.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during development, coordinating with team members to adjust timelines or reallocate resources if needed.
  • Ensure the final product is delivered on time, on budget, and meets the required quality and performance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in new product development, preferably within the elevator or related industry.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and compliance standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and adaptable to changing project requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or PMP certification.
