About the position

Carlisle Companies Incorporated is seeking a Project Manager for New Product Development to join our Marketing team at our headquarters in Carlisle, PA. This role is crucial for coordinating people and processes to ensure that all assigned projects are delivered on time and meet the desired commercial product specifications. The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines and milestones are met. This position involves specifying, setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by various product teams to ensure that the features and functionality of the product align with the product manager's specifications. The successful candidate will lead efforts to ensure a successful launch of a select portfolio of products, which includes gathering requirements, documenting processes, running team meetings, assisting with testing, and planning with the entire organization to facilitate a timely product launch. The Project Manager will be responsible for executing the phase gate New Product Development (NPD) process, inspiring team collaboration, and delivering high-impact results. This includes project administration, plant and field trial coordination, third-party coordination, and securing raw materials. The role also involves organizing NPD core team meetings, phase gate meetings, and post-launch review meetings, as well as managing project data, reporting, and visual management. Effective communication with various departments such as R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Warranty, and Quality is essential. The Project Manager will also focus on continuous improvement of the NPD process and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Secure raw materials and manage NPD core team meetings.
  • Conduct phase gate meetings and post-launch review meetings.
  • Manage project data, reporting, and visual management.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure project success.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for the NPD process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Polymer Science, or related technical discipline; MS or PhD preferred.
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in a technical field with laboratory coursework, or an associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Zero to five years of experience as a Project Manager, Product Manager, Engineer, R&D Technician, or R&D Chemist.
  • Knowledge of Agile and traditional project management principles and practices.
  • Understanding of product development life cycle models and stage gate processes.
  • Ability to adapt project management methodologies to fit specific projects.
  • Familiarity with customer VOC/Ethnography and related product development tools.
  • Strong project planning and management skills, including scope and schedule management.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with current business and project management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in construction materials and building technology.
  • Knowledge of material/system design and construction/installation processes.
  • Familiarity with product/system field testing and performance evaluation.
