About the position

The New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager at Baker Hughes is responsible for leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to oversee the successful execution of new product development projects, specifically focusing on Pressure Safety Valves (PSV). This role involves collaboration with global teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, while also driving continuous improvement within the NPD Group.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and validate needs with product managers and understand the requirements for the new product to be developed.
  • Evaluate the needs (material, resources, prototype, etc.) required to carry out the project.
  • Analyze and measure risks that may occur during completion.
  • Establish project structures and operating rules (methods, piloting tools, etc.).
  • Establish project execution planning in collaboration with all project stakeholders (engineering, purchasing, methods, Configuration management, etc...).
  • Manage the project in accordance with the processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that projects are carried out on time, at cost and in compliance with the initial requirements validated with the product managers.
  • Pilot and coordinate matrix execution teams from Engineering, Production, Procurement/Supply, Management configuration, ValvStream.
  • Conduct regular reviews with internal stakeholders to monitor performance during implementation, with associated indicators and implement corrective actions, if necessary.
  • Communicate (reporting) the progress of the project to the business leaders (USA).
  • Use feedback and good practices to promote continuous improvement within the NPD Group.
  • Improve the process and practices to meet business in terms of quality and cost and delivery time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a project management position within a technical or mechanical environment.
  • Proficient in English both oral and written.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and project planning tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Ability to anticipate events and design appropriate and creative strategies/solutions.
  • Strong relationship and communication skills to build trust with support teams and leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and promoting change in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with multiple time zones and cultures.
