About the position

Fieldpiece is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Orange, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing product development projects from initial concept through to launch. You will collaborate with both internal teams and external suppliers to ensure that projects are effectively planned, prioritized, and managed. Your primary goal will be to ensure that resources are utilized efficiently, problems are addressed promptly, and that all projects are completed on time while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and a deep understanding of the product development life cycle. You will be expected to lead teams in an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) environment, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where innovation and experimentation are encouraged. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and build trust with team members will be crucial in driving projects to successful completion. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to define, prioritize, plan, manage, and report on projects to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Develop and manage project governance plans, schedules, goals, success criteria, milestones, resources, and budgets.
  • Establish data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and provide reports to stakeholders.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for issue management, risks, decisions, and the overall success of a project with internal and external (suppliers) teams.
  • Ensure all project-related documentation and deliverables are completed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - preferably in a STEM field.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of mechanical, electrical, or design engineering experience.
  • Experience with MS Project, Gantt charts, and Gate Phase methodology.
  • Strategically minded analytical self-starter with the ability to schedule and manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to keep projects moving forward.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage resources by planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating the work of others.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% - nationally and internationally.
