About the position

The Project Manager (Non-IT) will oversee control engineering projects, ensuring effective tracking, reporting, and technical decision-making on behalf of the client. This role involves guiding project scope, managing costs, and improving control systems to enhance safety and operational efficiency. The position requires a strong background in engineering and project management, particularly in control systems and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Track projects in the control engineering department and report project statuses weekly.
  • Act as the owner agent and make technical decisions on behalf of the client.
  • Provide guidance and support for control engineering efforts including project scope, tracking, estimating bids, cost reporting, and projections.
  • Enter purchase requisitions and approve invoices related to projects.
  • Lead control engineering projects and support operations training.
  • Interact with operations to develop control system improvements to reduce safety and environmental impacts.
  • Support the preparation and utilization of specifications, details, maintenance procedures, and documentation improvements for pipeline and related facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years' project management experience.
  • 15+ years' experience in design and implementation of controls and related systems.
  • 10+ years' experience in design and implementation of instrumentation and electrical work.
  • 10 years' experience in managing projects related to control system upgrades.
  • Proficiency in Oracle is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering Registration or other related control certifications are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PHSMA, OSHA, and industry standards related to control engineering.
