About the position

The Project Manager (Non-Technical) at WMATA's Department of Transportation is responsible for managing and executing quality assurance projects to ensure compliance with mandated requirements. This role involves writing procedures, evaluating processes, and making recommendations for improvements to enhance performance outcomes. The Project Manager will conduct assessments, identify deficiencies, and implement business process enhancements while collaborating with various stakeholders to support safe and reliable transportation services in the Washington D.C. area.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute departmental quality assurance projects.
• Write procedures and work instructions to improve performance outcomes.
• Evaluate and recommend adjustments to processes and standards.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate adherence to procedures and effectiveness.
• Identify deficiencies and opportunities for efficiency.
• Initiate and implement business process enhancements.
• Conduct detailed issue and data analyses for project recommendations.
• Develop and monitor project plans and timelines.
• Oversee all aspects of projects throughout their life-cycle.
• Coordinate responses to high-profile executive correspondence.
• Serve as a liaison between various offices to resolve issues.
• Develop and submit project budgets and progress reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in analyzing business problems and coordinating improvement projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing complex projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with a transit organization.
• Progressively responsible managerial experience in public service sector.
• Six Sigma Process Improvement Certification.
• Project Management Certification.
