About the position

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to lead multi-discipline teams in the Nuclear Services & Technology sector, focusing on design solutions for the federal government, including the DOE and NNSA. The role involves managing complex projects related to nuclear facility design and construction, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Direct technical teams and serve as the primary interface with clients, project controls, procurement professionals, and senior management.
  • Negotiate project scope, establish cost estimates and schedules, and develop project plans.
  • Manage project resources and effectively oversee medium to large sized multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Monitor and control project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and day-to-day activities.
  • Execute projects per the project plans, manage changes, and ensure technical adequacy of deliverables.
  • Review design documents for compliance with company standards and client scope of work.
  • Accountable for financial performance of projects, including gross margin alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and control external communication and invoices, providing accurate revenue recognition and reporting to senior management.
  • Market for new work, propose on new opportunities, and develop a network of clients.
  • Lead proposal preparation, estimating, and scheduling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Sciences in Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in technical fields related to nuclear facility design and engineering.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a project manager in an A&E environment.
  • Proficient in overall project management, client management, and budget management.
  • Experience with DOE or NNSA projects and nuclear quality assurance standards.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage details for multiple projects concurrently.

  • Familiarity with CAD design platforms (e.g. CREO and REVIT)
  • Active Q-Clearance or ability to obtain Q-Clearance
