About the position
The Project Manager for Small Projects at DT Construct is responsible for overseeing the execution of small construction projects from contract signing to final invoicing. This role emphasizes timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality standards, requiring hands-on carpentry skills and effective team leadership. The Project Manager will ensure clear communication with clients and maintain transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Oversee small projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
- Manage all aspects of in-house carpenters and some subcontractors, including time management and quality control.
- Perform hands-on carpentry as needed based on workload.
- Create and maintain schedules to ensure multiple projects are completed within the given timeframe.
- Order and ensure all materials are onsite for carpenters to complete their projects without delay.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist the sales team by creating standard timeframes for common tasks and identifying project completion times.
- Communicate with sales and accounting on the status of project start and completion.
- Adhere to established key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to guide project success and evaluate performance.
- Proactively address and resolve project-related challenges to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- 10 years of construction experience (Required)
- 3 years of project management experience (Required)
- Hands-on carpentry skills
- Experience with construction management software
- Strong leadership skills
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ProCore project scheduling
- Ability to manage subcontractors effectively
