About the position

The Project Manager - Operational Readiness at Amgen is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, execution, and tracking of cross-functional workstreams to ensure operational readiness. This role involves developing readiness plans, facilitating workshops, managing schedules and risks, and providing strategic guidance to optimize project delivery. The position plays a critical role in aligning various workstreams with construction and commissioning efforts, ultimately contributing to the successful launch of innovative medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Operational Readiness activities and lead cross-functional workstreams.
  • Develop and integrate readiness plans for multiple workstreams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Control.
  • Facilitate execution of activities and resolve execution challenges.
  • Coordinate resources and manage project schedules and risks.
  • Implement communication strategies for proactive project monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide updates to project sponsors and senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with other project managers for cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide strategic guidance on project delivery to optimize execution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and 10 years of Project Management experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 8 years of Project Management experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Project Management experience OR
  • Master's degree and 2 years of Project Management experience OR
  • Doctorate degree with relevant experience.
  • Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in project management software and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Visio).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certification
  • Knowledge of biotech DS manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale projects in a matrix organization
  • Understanding of operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
