About the position

The Project Manager for Operations Quality and Support at Charles River Laboratories is responsible for providing quality support to operational and laboratory teams. This role involves centralized quality data reporting, analysis, and trending, as well as participating in quality investigations and managing change initiatives. The Project Manager will work closely with various teams to ensure quality standards are met and improvements are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide centralized quality data reporting, analysis, and trending.
  • Utilize, build, maintain, and enhance relevant data repositories and tools.
  • Facilitate and lead Operations team in understanding and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide rigorous, engaging, and effective training on data repositories and tools.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement through KPI and data analysis/trending, process mapping, and scheduled Gemba walks.
  • Facilitate and lead Operations team in applying process improvement tools and concepts.
  • Provide training on process improvement tools.
  • Work closely with Site Leadership, Operations and Laboratory Sciences, Study Directors, Business Optimization, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
  • Participate in the Site Change Management program through rigorous review of proposed initiatives.
  • Participate in Quality investigations, ensuring rigorous root cause analysis (RCA) and effective actions.
  • Facilitate site quality meetings, including maintaining minutes and action item tracker.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in QA/QC role in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated skills as an instructor and facilitator.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills; detail-oriented.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills commensurate with Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a contract research organization (CRO) environment.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
