About the position

The Project Manager for Operations Technology and Automation at McKesson is responsible for leading and managing large-scale technology and automation initiatives associated with the establishment of new distribution centers. This role involves strategic planning, project execution, stakeholder management, and complex problem-solving to ensure alignment with organizational goals and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for technology and automation initiatives associated with the stand-up of five new distribution centers.
  • Lead and manage large-scale operations technology and automation programs from inception through execution.
  • Mentor a team of project managers to drive assigned initiatives and ensure successful transitions.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and executive leadership.
  • Communicate organizational strategies and translate them into actionable functional strategies.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
  • Ensure the right metrics to monitor program status, risks, and readiness are developed and updated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, focusing on operations technology and automation.
  • Strong understanding of operations technology, automation tools, and software platforms.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex programs and projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a minimum of 3-5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
