About the position

The Project Manager will oversee and manage IT projects, ensuring they align with PMI standards and are executed effectively. This role requires extensive experience in project management, particularly in software development, and the ability to communicate with various stakeholders. The position is based in Tallahassee, FL, and has a duration of 6+ months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large, cross-divisional, and cross-functional software development programs/projects.
  • Develop program or project strategy, business cases, and enterprise-wide project plans.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
  • Prepare Legislative Budget Requests (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), and Operational Work Plans (OWP).
  • Communicate effectively with IT and business leadership.
  • Manage documentation in MS SharePoint.

Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • At least ten (10) years of IT business/industry work experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing projects in accordance with PMI's standards as outlined in the PMBOK Guide.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience developing program or project strategy, business cases, and enterprise-wide project plans.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing large, cross-divisional, and cross-functional software development programs/projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the PALM project.
  • Familiarity with data.
  • Experience working on projects that impact multiple legacy systems.
  • Experience working with stakeholders from multiple business units.
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
  • Experience preparing Legislative Budget Requests (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), and Operational Work Plans (OWP).
  • Knowledge of purchasing rules, processes, and documentation.
  • Experience with IT purchasing processes and practices.
  • Experience managing projects for an IT PMO.
  • Experience creating a Solution Definition Framework or ISDM.
