About the position

The Project Manager at Allied Steel Buildings Inc. is responsible for overseeing high-value construction projects, ensuring effective scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and client communication. This role requires managing mid to high complexity projects that utilize Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) and conventional steel framing systems, while fostering a collaborative team environment and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Sales and Technical Sales Support staff in project assessment and proposal preparation.
  • Verifies pre-contract project activities to establish action plans.
  • Prepares project management action plans to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets.
  • Organizes and facilitates project teams and resources to meet objectives.
  • Conducts thorough reviews of project documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Oversees project finances including budgeting, cash flow, and invoicing.
  • Manages meetings and communications with project team members and clients.
  • Establishes fabrication production slots in accordance with project schedules.
  • Administers purchase orders and work orders with external resources and vendors.
  • Addresses issues of material shortages and installation support.
  • Enforces processes and procedures for project success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of project management experience in the construction products industry.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings and conventional steel framing systems is a plus.
  • Skilled in reading and understanding project drawings and specifications.
  • Firm grasp of project-related finances including cash flow and job costing.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with CRM and project management/scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with graphics and modeling software (e.g., Sketchup, BimSight).
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
  • Highly organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to facilitate groups and negotiate with supply chain vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
