About the position

The Project Manager will join American Tower's Data and Digital Solutions team, focusing on delivering process optimization, technology solutions, data management, and reporting analytics across various departments. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating business activities and resources to achieve project goals, while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to medium sized internal process or technology projects.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and level of effort.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
  • Establish a work plan for each project phase and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Develop project strategies and plans and identify required methods and tools.
  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepare project status reports for management and business unit leaders.
  • Monitor progress against plan.
  • Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, staffing requirements, and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
  • Assist other project management personnel with creating time block and/or actual work plans for their assigned projects.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
  • Administer resource management scheduling system; provide visibility of utilization and availability to management.
  • Update project status summaries weekly for business managers and communicate project issues to management and sponsor.
  • Collaborate closely with other Shared Services groups for process and system enhancements.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
  • Adhere to best project management practices and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a project-oriented environment required, with IT experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Experience with MS Project Server or comparable resource scheduling tool preferred.
  • System development life cycle experience preferred.
