About the position

The Project Manager will play a key role in the BetMGM Project Management organization, leading strategic initiatives and a variety of varied-sized programs and projects across BetMGM. This role focuses on managing projects such as new market launches for Retail and Mobile technologies, Operational Optimization, and Compliance-focused projects. The Project Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage high-visibility projects, create project plans, resolve risks, and communicate progress to executive stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery and contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Creates the program and project governance structures from scratch
  • Complies with and effectively applies project management methodology and enforces project standards
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet needs and requirements
  • Identifies resources needed, assigns responsibilities, and holds team accountable to fixed dates and commitments
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project to ensure delivery within scope, budget, and time
  • Facilitates and guides project teams effectively with proper use of tools, processes, and visibility
  • Inspires and motivates co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence
  • Works alongside project coordinators and junior project managers in leadership, methodology, tools, and people skills
  • Manages high-visibility, and varied complexity projects and initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Full project life cycle ownership from inception, scoping, delivery, and closing
  • Reports on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities
  • Manages projects with a solutions-driven approach providing teams clear direction and clearing any ambiguity
  • Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery
  • Understands business needs for each project and makes ongoing decisions based on what's best for the organization
  • Verifies that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the strict first-to-market constraints of time
  • Develops and delivers project deliverables, progress reports, artifacts, communication plans, risk plans and other related documents & presentations to various audiences
  • Effectively sets and manages stakeholder expectations
  • Delivers appropriate, concise, clear, and effective executive-level communication
  • Manages project and initiative issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline including resolution and timely escalations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and large, established company
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills
  • Knowledge and/or exposure to the SDLC process
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
  • Experience working with external partner casinos (tribal and non-tribal)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with external partners
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors with demonstrated communication skills
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and possess a holistic business view
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Pro-active and can-do approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in Gaming preferred
