About the position

The Project Manager for Power Control Systems at Siemens will oversee various projects related to ATS and Switchgear equipment. This role involves managing project scope, budget, and timelines while ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders. The PM will be responsible for resource allocation, risk management, and project execution, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the client's current needs and anticipate future requirements.
  • Review construction scope, schedules, and project documents for accuracy and requirements.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly progress reporting and communications with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Lead customer kickoff meetings, either remotely or at customer sites as required.
  • Attend weekly meetings, providing high-level status updates and leading programming, engineering, and project management activities.
  • Review materials at factory pre-shipment or pre-inspection to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Facilitate resolution of warranty claims as they arise on the project.
  • Communicate project cost estimates and scheduled completion to finance partners on a monthly basis.
  • Lead periodic operational review meetings with the customer to maintain schedule and project organization.
  • Deliver projects consistently at or below budget.
  • Provide lessons learned feedback to the Quotations team on selective complicated projects.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Coordinate the resolution of sophisticated issues with qualified Project Engineers.
  • Support the Finance team on invoicing and coordination of invoicing.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans to preempt potential problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of direct project management experience.
  • Very strong project management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to identify contractual risks and work to mitigate exposure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Power Control Systems and Automatic Transfer Switches.
  • Experience with SAP.
