About the position

The Project Manager for Power Delivery at Primoris T&D Services will oversee various aspects of project management, including marketing, engineering, estimating, procurement, and scheduling. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth transition from the bid phase to execution, maintaining communication between teams, and developing proposals for major projects. The Project Manager will also be responsible for risk management and maximizing profitability while supporting pre-construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional oversight of marketing, engineering, estimating, procurement, and scheduling during project pursuits.
  • Lead the transition from bid phase to execution phase through transition meetings.
  • Maintain clear communication between Engineering, Procurement, and Construction staff during proposal preparation.
  • Support the management of pre-construction activities and overall project progress.
  • Conduct value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Obtain feedback during project execution to develop best practices for future proposals.
  • Establish relationships with design teaming partners and conduct technical reviews of vendor submittals.
  • Work with engineering managers to obtain comprehensive design documents according to the planned schedule.
  • Direct RFI/RFPs to appropriate parties and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop strategies to limit risk exposure and maximize profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-construction services including design, estimating, procurement, project management, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Previous substation and/or transmission line field or design experience.
  • Experience with project scheduling and estimating.
  • Demonstrated experience with fast-track, design-build (DB), and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of market conditions for competitive proposal development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Project; experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in large construction projects.
  • Familiarity with integrated design-build (DB) or engineer-procure-construct (EPC) project execution.
