About the position

Eaton's Electrical Engineering & Services division is seeking a Project Manager for Power Systems Controls. This remote role involves managing and executing projects that support the sales force and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Manager will ensure a seamless transition from quoting to execution, focusing on cost, quality, and schedule objectives while implementing industry best practices in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall execution of projects supporting the sales force and PSC Engineers.
  • Create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives for projects.
  • Support the PSC Project Management Office in developing tools and implementing best practices.
  • Self-manage and direct a team on awarded projects, including service systems integration engineering.
  • Plan, establish, maintain, and regularly update project schedules for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with Team Leaders to assign engineering resources and provide performance feedback.
  • Monitor, control, forecast, and report costs on assigned projects within estimated margins.
  • Prepare and present project status information for stakeholders.
  • Manage engineering responses to customer emergencies and warranty issues.
  • Establish and manage contracts between Eaton and its customers & suppliers.
  • Support negotiation engineers in developing proposals for new business.
  • Develop new project management processes, standards, and tools.
  • Review customer specifications and bid documents, issuing change orders when necessary.
  • Assist with order-entry and hand-off to PSC engineers.
  • Conduct contingency planning and maintain project action item lists.
  • Ensure technical coordination between internal teams, factories, suppliers, and customers.
  • Document control and distribution to customers and suppliers.
  • Develop and deliver training material within areas of expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution systems and field services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PMP certification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with automatic transfer schemes.
