About the position

The Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of energy storage projects. This role ensures compliance with federal regulations and technical specifications while coordinating activities across various teams to meet project milestones and customer delivery timelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses a strong background in energy technology and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage BESS projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with FAR, UFC, and UFGS requirements and technical specifications.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, specific to BESS and government standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, compliance, and field teams to ensure all project activities meet government standards, including UFC and UFGS, and adhere to delivery deadlines.
• Responsible for meeting customer delivery requirements and timelines, ensuring project milestones are achieved as planned.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including compliance reports and status updates for government clients.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, particularly regarding safety and regulatory standards for BESS.
• Communicate project progress to stakeholders, including clients and executive leadership, and address any issues or deviations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within government contracts in energy storage, renewable energy, or a related technical sector.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong familiarity with FAR, DFARS, UFC, and UFGS compliance requirements for government projects.
• Proven track record of managing project schedules and delivering on time to meet customer expectations.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) preferred, not required.
